Terms of Service

Last updated 16 June 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the iban2bic website and IBAN → BIC conversion API. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

iban2bic provides an HTTP API that resolves a SEPA IBAN to its BIC/SWIFT code, bank details and SEPA reachability flags, billed per successful conversion.

2. Accounts

Accounts are provisioned by our team. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential and for all activity that occurs under them. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

3. Acceptable use

  • Use the API only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws, including data-protection laws.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit metering or authentication.
  • Do not resell, redistribute or build a competing bulk dataset from the raw responses.
  • Do not submit data you are not authorised to process.

4. Pricing, credits and billing

The service is pay-as-you-go at €0.009 per successful conversion (an HTTP 200 response). Invalid, not-found and error responses are not charged.

Credits are granted against invoices issued by us and are consumed as you use the API. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law. We may update pricing with reasonable notice.

5. Availability

We aim for high availability but provide the service on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Current status is published at iban2bic.com/status.

6. Data accuracy

Banking data is provided “as is”, sourced from third parties and our own records. While we strive for accuracy, you must independently verify a BIC before relying on it to move funds. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate or outdated data.

7. Intellectual property

The service, including its software, design and underlying data compilation, is owned by iban2bic and protected by applicable law. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the API for your own business.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iban2bic will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment or misuse. Outstanding invoices remain payable.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, and the courts of Italy have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

11. Changes

We may revise these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
